The City of Dalton's Finance Department is responsible for the administration of the City's financial operations in accordance with legal requirements and accepted accounting principles. The department's primary responsibilities are to safeguard the City's assets, ensure cost efficiencies, provide financial support to departments, and provide timely accurate information. The department oversees accounting and reporting, treasury management, accounts receivable, payroll services, accounts payable, limited purchasing services-compliance, vendor compliance, debt administration, various grants management-reporting, capital asset reporting, coordination of budget process, administration and maintenance of financial software and time keeping software, coordination of annual audits, and administration of the Community Development Block Grant program. 

Our mission is to provide transparent, timely, and accurate information in a professional manner while maintaining financial integrity of accounting records, transactions, and analyses that will assist city leaders in making informed economic decisions.
