The Dalton Police Department is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), and provides a full range of police services to the community. Our department is made up of 84 sworn officers and 15 civilian support staff who go the extra mile to provide professional service. Although we respond promptly to requests for service, the department uses a strategic approach to proactively seek solutions to crime problems, and all members place great emphasis on crime prevention.
In order to be successful, an agency must
develop specific objectives and strategies.
The Dalton Police Department uses a Strategic Plan to identify
targets and goals designed to reach these objectives.
The Strategic Plan is developed with input from citizens,
and members at every level of the department.
The Plan is updated as needed in an ongoing basis,
and completely re-evaluated every three years.
